The new European construction products regulation

Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89/106/EEC.

On 1 July 2013 , this Regulation will replace the old Council Directive 89/106/EEC, known as the Construction Products Directive (CPD), from 1988. In Austria this was implemented via the Construction Products Act [Bauproduktengesetz - Bau PG]. The new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) no longer needs to be implemented into national law as European regulations are immediately legally effective in all member states. This means that the new Construction Products Regulation is also valid in Austria.
